Meet Our Pastoral Staff
English Ministry Pastor
I was born and raised in a Christian home, Transylvania, Romania in Eastern Europe. My great-grandparents were among the very first protestant Christians in the area. So, I was born and raised in the persecuted church and my family was imprisoned, tortured and abused for 3 generations before me! They evangelized the area and helped in building a few churches.
I came to repentance and personally experienced Jesus Christ’s forgiveness at a hidden Christian camp when I was 10 years old where I fell in love with God’s word…My family and I came to the US seeking political asylum when I was 14 years old. I was baptized at 16 and received my call at 17 years old.
I started being involved in ministry from my first year of college with IVCF at UCSD and never looked back. Since then, I have been constantly and continually in part-time to full time ministry both in the local church and on the mission field. Meanwhile, I received a Pure Mathematics Degree from UCSD, before moving on to Fuller Theological Seminary, where I received an MDiv with emphasis in New Testament Exegesis and Pastoral Missions. I like the outdoors and played tennis at a competitive level in college…but now, I am more fit for table tennis.
I met my wife, Mari on the mission field and we have dedicated our marriage to His service; we have been married for about 14 years. We have 2 children with the Lord and 2 with us…we continue to seek His Kingdom and His righteousness in our service to Him while we carry on in our journey home.
Pastor Caleb Lin was born in Taipei, Taiwan and grew up there. After graduating from university, he came to the United States for graduate studies, and then worked as a software engineer for twenty years. He has attended church since he was a child, but it was only until a summer during college when he knew clearly he was saved by Jesus. He has participated in many church ministries since then. He responded to God's call in 2008 and went to study at China Evangelical Seminary in Taipei. He became a pastor of the Chinese Ministry of Chinese Evangelical Church of Portland in 2012. Pastor Lin’s favorite pastimes are sharing the Bible and chatting with people. Pastor Lin and his wife (Jennie) love to serve the Lord together.
